Worried about writing a cover letter to apply for a plumber apprenticeship position? Don’t be because writing one isn’t as bad as it is made out to be. Cover letter writing is highly overrated. Or at least, the worries associated with it are. Believe us when we say that if you have the right information, you can never write a cover letter that will be rejected.
What does good cover letter writing include? It involves a lot of research – a little about cover letter writing itself and a lot about the plumber apprenticeship position. You will need to make sure that you sound enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the job that you will be applying for. If you do not do this, your cover letter will look washed down and ordinary, both of which are never taken well by prospective employers.
Contemplate what you will write before actually putting it down on paper. Make notes and elaborate on them before you consider doing the actual writing. Once you have written the cover letter, read it several times to make sure that you sound as enthusiastic and genuinely qualified to apply for the job, as you had originally wanted.
Here is how you can do this:

Mr. Geoffrey Holden
Hiring Manager
San Juan Construction

Dear Mr. Holden:
The Harsher building on 11th Avenue (before it was demolished earlier this year) was in constant need of plumbing support albeit no resources or funds. As a volunteer, I assisted in handling many of the recurring problems that the building owners faced, specifically with their plumbing systems.
During this time, I obtained expertise in:
• Performing pipe-fitting duties and taking necessary steps to keep plumbing systems in good working order
• Laying out, assembling and altering pipes, fixtures and fittings and water supply systems
• Installing pipe flanges, gaskets and bolts into place and performing basic pipe installations
Now, I am looking for an apprenticeship program where I can provide benefits of what I have learnt through my volunteering stint to an established organization. Once you meet with me, you will discover that I have in-depth understanding of plumbing systems and will require minimum supervision in an apprentice role, making me contributory immediately.
I will be in touch with you to see if a mutually convenient time can be decided for an interview. Until then, please feel free to contact me at (000) 142-4211.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
(Signature)
John Carter
