Cashier Cover Letter No Experience

By | September 12, 2019

No experience as a cashier should not be a deterrent to applying for a job.

Usually, it is the cashier cover letter that seems quite challenging to handle when applying for an entry-level cashier position.

Focusing on your skills and knowledge as a cashier rather than the experience that you don’t have is essential.

Writing about what you do know about cashiering is imperative.

Your entry level cashier cover letter can hold information such as your ability to process cash and credit card payments by operating standard cash registers.

You can also tell the hiring manager how good you are at balancing drawers. And so on.

Writing a cover letter for an entry-level cashier position is not a problem if you have the employer’s requirements at hand.

Here is a sample that you can refer to:

Mr. Bruce Riggs
Human Resources Manager
Walgreens
1255 6th Avenue
Long Beach, CA 41021

Dear Mr. Riggs:

With exceptional customer service and cash handling skills, I am applying for a cashier position at Walgreens. From processing cash and credit card payments to balancing cash drawers, I am knowledgeable about it all.

Last year, I volunteered my services at my neighbor’s retail store; as a result, learned much about cashiering work. In fact, I am exceptionally talented in liaising with customers in order to provide them with the right information regarding where to find their choice of products, and can efficiently ring in their purchases.

Since I am a stickler for perfection, you will never find an unbalanced drawer on my shift. Also, I am talented in providing customers with product specifications information, and can effectively lead them to buy additional items by performing upselling tasks.

It would be a great pleasure to meet with you so that I can further elaborate on my suitability for a cashier job at Walgreens. Next Monday, I will contact your office to see when you might have an open slot to meet with me. Until then, I can be reached at (000) 364-7855.

Thank you for considering my credentials for the Cashier job at Walgreens. I look forward to learning more about this exciting opportunity.

Sincerely,

Ian Wilkinson
